Recorded live at Santa Fe Community Yoga on 5/09/2015
This simple recording was captured live at Santa Fe Community Yoga on May 9th, 2015. It was a celebration of over a year of heartfelt practice with the Santa Fe community.
I had the honor and joy of living in Santa Fe from January of 2014 to May of 2015. Almost immediately I came in contact with the most amazing, sincere and talented musicians imaginable. We began playing together every week at Santa Fe Community Yoga until I finally moved about a year and a half later. It was a true honor to play with them, and it was incredible to sing with the Santa Fe community.
This recording is of the last kirtan before I moved. It was a true love fest, with many dear ones in the community coming out for a last goodbye.
I am happy to say that, even though I have left Santa Fe, Sharanagati, the kirtan band I was privileged to play with, still leads weekly kirtan at the Community Yoga Center. If you are in town you should stop by and sing with them on any given Saturday night.
I am forever grateful for Sharanagati and for those other souls who regularly came and sang with us. We became a true community, and I thank you for helping me to open my heart a little wider.
I want to specially mention Gaia Richards, your presence in Santa Fe is absolutely felt. You truly inspire me.
I also want to thank Tanya for inspiring this album (and for not believing me when I told you it couldn't be done). Thank you, and I hope this satisfies.
Lastly, I want to thank my teacher, Ram Dass, for continuing to shine the light for all of us, and to my Guru, Neem Karoli Baba, who is the Light Itself, that boundless ocean of Grace. May I drown in that Love.
Sitaram Dass spent several years serving his beloved teacher Ram Dass on Maui, where he was shown the path of Bhakti. He is
a member of the kirtan group, Kripa, and the director of the Sacred Community Project, where he works to lower the barriers of access to contemplative and devotional practices. All of these offerings serve as fundraisers for SCP...more
